My name is Joshua Benevento from Northern New Jersey.  I have been interested and involved with amateur astronomy since 1996.  I was one of the founding members of the Ramsey High School Astronomy Club.  My first telescope’s were a 60mm refractor and a 4.5 inch reflector, garage sale specials!  Seeing that my interest was increasing, I received a Celestar 8 from my parents for Christmas in 1997.   I have since then moved onto a more advanced mount with better refractors, but still have the C8 ota.  I am an active member of the Rockland Astronomy Club.

When I am not looking into the heavens, I am singing opera.  I sing regionally in the northeast but plan on being global!  I also lead worship at my church and play a plethora of instruments.
